A Pause for Growth: Shifting Focus to Music and Career Development
Hello again, and thank you for following along with my journey so far.
After months of research, interviews, and reflection on the UK music industry’s challenges and opportunities, I’ve decided to take a temporary pause from this project to focus on my own music career and personal development.
This decision wasn’t made lightly. Reforming the UK Music Industry for Sustainable Futures has been an enriching exploration, and the insights I’ve gathered continue to shape how I think about sustainability, education, and support within the creative sector. But now feels like the right moment to step back and invest in the very areas I’ve been researching—from artistic growth to career resilience.
Over the past year, I’ve been working on an album in collaboration with another artist, and we're nearing the final stages of development. I’m also planning to actively build my social platforms as both a producer and artist to connect with wider audiences.
Beyond music, I’m exploring career development pathways, including the possibility of undertaking an Improvement Practitioner apprenticeship. This could offer valuable tools for systems thinking, strategic planning, and interdisciplinary impact—skills that align closely with both my creative and research ambitions.
While this blog will be quieter for a while, the project isn’t over. I see this pause not as a detour, but as a necessary step in living the questions I’ve been asking. By deepening my own experience as a creative professional, I hope to return with even greater clarity, empathy, and insight.
Thank you for being part of this journey. I’ll be back with more reflections and updates when the time is right.
Until then—keep creating, keep questioning, and keep building the future we want to see.
